The house is situated in the hills of Laguna de Baru, 600 meters from the San Isidro de El General/Dominical road. The small surf village of Dominical is within 10 minutes drive and is 30 miles south of Quepos and the Manuel Antonio National Park.

From San Jose International Airport, there are three possible ways to get to the house. The first of which is to drive south from San Jose and over the 3500 meter high mountains, through the cloud forest of the Cerro de la Muerte to San Isidro de el General and then west towards Dominical. Total drive time is about 4 to 4 ½ hours.

The second way is to drive west from the airport to the Pacific coastal town of Jaco and then south to towards Quepos and then Dominical. Drive time is about 4 ½ to 5 hours (especially if you stop to stretch your legs and eat in Jaco).

The third way is to take a short connecting flight from the San Jose International airport to Quepos with Sansa (which is about a 45 minute flight, check on the cost) and take a rental car from Quepos about 1 hour to Dominical.

Planning your trip...
Depending on when you arrive into San Jose International Airport, we would recommend staying at either the Hampton Inn & Suites (www.centralamerica.com/cr/hotel/hampton.htm) or Garden Court (ask to be connected if there is no availability at the Hampton Inn) Both hotels are with in five minutes drive from the airport and about 30 minutes outside of downtown San Jose. They are within a short walk from each other and have shuttle buses that can pick you up.

The close proximity to several major car rental companies also makes staying at either hotel very convenient. Toyota Car Rental (www.toyotarent.com) is one company which may not be the cheapest, but their service is very good. (Tip: book your hotel and car rental ahead of your visit and ask for any discounts. Demand is very high, especially during the peak season, so vehicles and room accommodations tend to go fast.)
